




Our History
Mills Electric Co. has been an established electrical contractor in the Northwest since 1911. It was originally founded by Howard E. Mills. In the beginning Mills Electric Co. specialized in commercial service work and appliance/lamp repair.

Howard E. Mills’ son, Howard O. Mills Sr., later took over management of the company. Under his control, Mills Electric expanded its operations into the industrial and marine sectors. Its Marine Division serviced commercial and naval vessels at the Bellingham Shipyards in the 1940’s. Mills Electric later helped to build both pleasure and naval vessels for Uniflite Boat Builders located in Bellingham’s South Side.

Howard O. Mills, Sr. eventually passed control of the company over to his son Howard O. Mills, Jr. Howard O. Mills, Jr. expanded Mills Electric’s operations throughout the Northwest Region. During his tenure, the company performed work in Washington, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Alaska, California and Russia.
